About Us

Welcome to the Czech International Basketball Camp. Not only the young players, but also their parents may participate. The latter may, at the same time, spend a wonderful holiday in the Czech Republic. For the first time, this summer the Basketball Camp will be organised in the framework of Czech International Camps.

about1about2We provide a week of full-time, intensive training for players aged ten to eighteen. You will be trained by English speaking, experienced and educated professionals. English is the official camp language.

We organise basketball summer camps since 1993. Initially, under the patronage of NIKE Basketball Camp, since 2003, as Jiri Welsch Basketball Camp (NBA player, Milwaukee Bucks team). In over ten years, a wide range of boys and girls has passed through our training. Most of them follow a career in sport in various roles, and this we consider to be a great success. Of all these, let us name Jiří Welsch (at present in Cleveland Cavaliers), Ondřej Starosta (Strasbourg, Euroleague), Pavel Miloš (Summer League, Detroit Pistons), Petr Burda (NCAA), Martin Marek (formal Colgate United).

All our basketball practice is coordinated by coaches with a university-level education in training of basketball (A license), the same applies to the coaches of running and jumps. Over half or our coaches specialise in training of children and juniors.

We provide the development of basketball skills both for beginners and for advanced players. As part of our summer camp, we organise a number of competitions and a also a basketball tournament, which takes place in four evening sessions across the duration of the camp.

A special guest of our camp is the only Czech NBA player at present, Jiří Welsch, and also Jiří Zídek jr., who was the first Czech NBA player (drafted as no. 22 in 1995 by Charlotte Hornets, represented Denver Nuggets and Seattle Supersonic, he is an NCAA champion of 1995 with UCLA, a Euroleague champion of 1999 with Zalgiris Kaunas, and a former player at Real Madrid, Alba Berlin, Ulker Istanbul, Prokom Sopoty a ČEZ Nymburk. A number of our coaches have previously played in Czech national representation teams.
